B&C Morning Show: Boomer Declares Yanks To Be Done, Craig Sends A Memo To Teixeira
The Yankees just keep on sliding, losing to the Rays 4-3 on Monday and now hold just a one-game lead over the 2nd place Orioles (Rays are 2.5 back). Despite the Bombers’ recent woes, Craig still planned on opening his controversial ‘Mets Fans for Yankees Church’ – a decision Boomer advised against.
The latest Yankees loss was marred by what many perceived to be a lazy effort out of Robinson Cano in the 8th inning, when he failed to lay out for ground allowing to go-ahead run to score. After hearing his post game comments, Boomer believes that Joe Girardi has grown frustrated with his talented 2nd baseman.
Craig has grown frustrated with Cano’s teammate Mark Teixeira, who has been out nursing a calf injury since August 27th. Considering the Yankees struggles, Craig sent-out a memo to his ‘sports yapping’ buddy, advising him to find away to get back on the field sooner rather than later.
So the vibes surrounding the Yankees were not good on this, the 4th day of September in the 2012 – a day that also marks the 5-year anniversary of this thing we’ve come to know as the Boomer & Carton Morning Extravaganza. During the 5-year run, both Boomer & Craig have made their share of declarations and this morning it was the Booms who declared that the Yankees will not make the playoffs!
