Newark Mayor Cory Booker Misspells ‘Barak’ Obama’s Name In DNC Ad
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – When it comes to President Barack Obama, it seems Newark mayor Cory Booker can’t catch a break.
Booker made headlines again, not for criticizing the president, but for supporting him.
In a full-page ad in the New Jersey directory of delegates at the Democratic National Convention, Booker lent his support to the president by urging others to “Re-Elect President Barak Obama.”
However, he misspelled one very important word: Barack. Booker missed the “C” in the president’s first name, which was first spotted by the New York Post.
In May, Booker came under fire for criticizing an Obama campaign ad that attacked Mitt Romney and Bain Capital. “It’s nauseating the American public. Enough is enough,” Booker said of the ad.
As if that wasn’t enough, Booker was injured Tuesday morning before making a speech.
Booker was scheduled to address the Florida delegation at the DNC Tuesday morning. When he got out of the car upon arriving for that speech, he tripped on the curb and badly sprained his ankle.
He proceeded to address the Florida delegation standing on one leg.
“I am in throbbing pain right now, Booker told CBS 2’s Marcia Kramer after an event this morning. “I am desperate to get to an ice bag, and my staff has been really good to me, so I am going to go back and do that,” Booker told Kramer.
He later Tweeted a photo of his ankle, which he described as “badly sprained.” He added that he stands with Obama, “even with this bum ankle.”
Despite the sprained ankle, Booker made his scheduled speech Tuesday evening.
