Celebrity Divorce Lawyer Under Investigation For Threatening Mafia Action Against Former Client
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – The Suffolk County District Attorney’s office has begun investigating the conduct of celebrity divorce lawyer Dominic Barbara for allegedly threatening a former client with mafia retribution.
Former client Ray Young, Jr. said Barbara made threats over the phone.
WCBS 880’s Irene Cornell reports
“I don’t want to disrespect any mobster, I don’t want the mafia being mad at me, but you know, he’s the one that’s calling their names and saying he’s going to send these guys over to me. He’s going to send them over and whatever they do, beat me up, kill me,” Young told WCBS 880’s Irene Cornell.
Young said Barbara also threatened to send mobsters over to his home.
“He threatened me. He acted like he had somebody in the room there he was talking to,” Young said.
Barbara allegedly said his grandfather Joseph was in the mafia and that Anthony “Tony Ducks” Corrallo, who was the boss of the Lucchese crime family, was his real godfather, according to Young.
Young has made an official complaint against Barbara.
Barbara has represented actress Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael and Joey Buttafuoco.
