Should Mets Consider Trading Ike Davis This Offseason?

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Will Ike Davis be a member of the 2013 Mets?

The first baseman didn't sound too concerned Monday amid speculation that New York may move him this winter.

"If they trade me, they trade me — I can't do anything about it," Davis said, according to the New York Post. "I have to do my job where I am at."

One report on Tuesday said the Mets would consider the possibility of trading Davis. If the 25-year-old is sent packing, Lucas Duda, who has recently seen time at first base against left-handed starters, could get comfortable at the position.

"I've done a decent job of making my stock go up in the second half, but I don't think about that stuff," said Davis. "As long as I have a job and I'm playing baseball, that is all that matters."

According to Andy Martino of the New York Daily News, there's a "healthy internal debate about who should be 1B of the future."

"Mets also understand would be tough to give up either power bat," Martino tweeted on Tuesday.

Martino also reported that the Mets won't "shop either aggressively" but would be open to the "right deal."
