Bring It On: The Musical (credit: CBS 2)
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – The stars of the latest Broadway musical hope the audience to flips over show.
“Bring It On: The Musical” is based on the films of the same name, but the stage production features full cheerleading stunts night in and night out with no stunt doubles.
The first “Bring It On” movie showcasing rival cheer squads hit theaters more than a decade ago, but the stars of the Broadway production told CBS 2′s Dana Tyler the story’s lessons are timeless.
The stage production also includes the added element of singing for the cast, even as they do jumps and flips.
30 of the 35 cast members are making their Broadway debut in the show.
“Bring It On: The Musical” is at the St. James Theatre through Jan. 20.
