Police: Brooklyn Couple Charged After Live Gator Found In Home

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- NYPD officers discovered a live pet alligator while executing a search warrant at a home in Brooklyn.

The 3.5-foot gator was found Monday in a couple's home on West 6th Street.

Two loaded handguns, a shotgun, brass knuckles, prescription pills and marijuana were also recovered, police said.

Michael Volpe, 32, and Alisa Volpe, 25, were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance and harboring a prohibitive animal in New York City.
