NYPD Seeks Suspect Who Robbed 4 Queens Banks

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD was searching Wednesday evening for the suspect who robbed four different banks around Queens between July and just this past Saturday.

In all of the incidents, the suspect entered the bank and handed a demand note to the teller. Police have not disclosed what the note said or whether the robber claimed to have a weapon, but the tellers did not always comply with his demands.

The robberies happened at the following times and locations:

• Tuesday, July 17, at 3 p.m., at the Amalgamated Bank at 78-01 37th Ave. in Jackson Heights. The suspect demanded money, and the teller complied and handed over an undetermined amount of cash.

• Friday, Aug. 10, at 5:50 p.m., at the Chase Bank at 74-03 Metropolitan Ave. in Middle Village. The teller did not comply with the suspect's demands, and he left empty-handed.

• Monday, Aug. 20, at 1:52 p.m., at the HSBC Bank at 22-15 43rd Ave. in Long Island City. The suspect demanded money, and the teller complied, handing over an undisclosed sum.

• Saturday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m., at the Chase Bank at 28-56 Steinway St. in Astoria. The suspect demanded money and the teller complied, again handing over an undisclosed sum.

No one was injured in the incidents.

The suspect is described as a black male, last seen wearing a striped shirt, jeans, sunglasses and a New York Yankees cap.
