NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are asking for the public's assistance to identify and locate a rape suspect, who has apparently struck again following an attack back in August.

Authorities said the same suspect being sought in an Aug. 17 sex assault at 85 Washington Place attacked another woman on Wednesday in Queens.

The suspect entered a store, located at 35-32 Union St., and sexually assaulted a 55-year-old woman.  She was taken to New York Hospital in Queens and is listed in stable condition, police said.

During the attack back in August, police said the suspect repeatedly struck his victim in the face and body until she went unconscious before sexually assaulting her.  The suspect also stole property from the location before fleeing.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 30 and 40 years old and is approximately 5-foot-8 with a medium to heavy build.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
