After posing the question in the show open, Craig revealed that he believes the New York Rangers are actually the team in the Tri-State area that are closest to winning a championship — clearly overlooking the fact that the NHL is currently locking its players out, but I digress.
With Craig’s Blueshirt ‘revelation’ in the rear-view mirror, Jerry Recco began his update with a highlight of JR Smith’s ‘big a– dunk’ from last night’s Knicks win over the Sixers. Smith said when he dunks the ball he does so to prove a point. Well, both Smith and the Knicks made a point last night by completing the home-and-home sweep of the 76ers in Philadelphia, improving to 3-0 on the young season.
It was all laughs following the game in the Knicks’ locker room — and why wouldn’t it be? Mike Woodson and his ‘Funky Cold Medina’ has the team playing well and all is right in Knicks land — for now.
Plus, Avery Johnson says his team just ran out of gas last night against the Timberwolves – mind you last night was only the Nets’ second game of the season. The Nets blew a 22-point third-quarter lead on their way to a 107-96 setback and had Craig questioning, ‘is Brooklyn in the house?’ On Monday Night Football, the Saints sacked Michael Vick seven times and downed the Eagles 28-13. Rex Ryan knows his Jets – who are 3-5 coming off their bye week – are not where they need to be and LaRon Landry doesn’t want to think about life minus the playoffs…
