NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Wrestling legend Mick Foley has made a career out of taking a beating.
The WWE icon has taken some of the biggest bumps anyone has ever seen – inside and outside of a wrestling ring – winning countless titles and fans along the way.
Now he’s semi-retired and also a bestselling author. He visited the Couch to talk about upcoming WrestleMania29 at MetLife Stadium.
“It’s our Super Bowl,” said Foley, who added that the sport brings people together from all over.
“It connects to people around the world in a way that almost nothing else besides soccer or football does,” he said. “I was just in Saudi Arabia…and I had never spoken to a woman in a full burqa. When we went to visit a tower, I saw all these women laughing and giggling and I went, ‘Do they know me?’ and it turned out they did, they watch it there.”
WrestleMania Tickets will be available at Ticketmaster.com and at all Ticketmaster outlets, or you can charge by phone by calling 800-745-3000.
