NEW YORK (AP) — Gov. Andrew Cuomo has announced that the Queens-Midtown Tunnel will be open to all traffic on Friday, the first time since it was flooded by Superstorm Sandy.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Thursday that trucks will be allowed in the tunnel beginning at 6 a.m. The tunnel had been open to cars since Nov. 9.
The tunnel carries about 78,000 vehicles on an average weekday.
