Former NYC Mayor Ed Koch Remains Hospitalized With Pneumonia
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Former New York City Mayor Ed Koch will stay in the hospital for a few more days after being diagnosed with pneumonia, his spokesman said Wednesday.
Doctors at New York-Presbyterian Hospital are treating Koch with antibiotics, CBS 2 reported.
Spokesman George Arzt said he was having lunch with the former mayor on Tuesday when Koch said he didn’t feel well.
This is the second hospitalization for the former mayor, who turns 88 on Dec. 12, in three months.
The three-term mayor has had previous health issues, including a stroke, a heart attack and quadruple bypass surgery.
Koch served as mayor from 1978 to 1989.
