TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Donald Trump can build and use a helistop at his golf course in New Jersey.
A state appeals court on Wednesday upheld a Transportation Department ruling that found Trump National Golf Club was entitled to a helistop license.
Colts Neck’s zoning board had denied the request, saying the Monmouth County town prohibits a landing pad for helicopters. The board also said the noise would be harmful to the area’s rural character.
The appeals court says the DOT had sufficient evidence to grant Trump’s application.
The DOT restricted the helistop’s use to Trump, members of his family or a designee for up to 48 times a year and only during the day unless there is an emergency.
