Department Of Sanitation Issues Christmas Eve Snow Alert

The Department of Sanitation issued a snow alert starting as of 4 p.m.
A snow alert suggests that a "snow event" is possible.
Sanitation workers are loading up 365 salt spreaders, attaching plows and preparing tire chains.

By midday Monday, most forecasts were calling for rain and the possibility of snow in New York City. Some accumulation was possible to the north of the city.
A winter weather advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. on Monday evening through 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning for part of northern New Jersey, the Hudson Valley and southern Connecticut.
