Long Island Man Charged With DWI, Possession of Stun Gun

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island man accused of driving drunk on New Year's Day found himself in more trouble after officers discovered a stun gun disguised as a cell phone in his pocket, Nassau County police said.

Hugh Murray, 26, was arrested after he was spotted weaving in and out of traffic in his BMW on Hempstead Turnpike near Merrick Avenue in East Meadow around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

After pulling him over, police determined Murray was drunk, officials said. Officers also found an electronic stun gun shaped as a cell phone in Murray's jacket pocket, police said.

Murray was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, driving while intoxicated, obstructing governmental administration, moving from lane unsafely and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
