Man Charged With Stabbing Woman To Death In Fort George
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man has been charged with stabbing a woman to death outside an apartment building in Fort George this past Monday.
Jonathan Pena-Castillo, 21, was charged with murder, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.
Around 3:47 p.m. Monday, police found Edith Rojas, 19, lying stabbed in front of the building at 75 Thayer St. – on the cusp of Fort George and Inwood. She was taken to Columbia Presbyterian-Allen Pavilion, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The suspect was apprehended a short time later, police said.
Police have not specified a motive for the stabbing.
