Suspect Sought In New York City's First Homicide Of 2013
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with New York City's first homicide of the new year.
Elzina Brown, 59, was found shot in the chest just before 1 p.m. Thursday at 1790 Story Avenue in the Bronx, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Brown's 22-year-old daughter also was shot. She was transported to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition, police said.
Police have identified a suspect in the shooting as 25-year-old Raymond Mayrant.
Mayrant is 5-foot-9 and approximately 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
