New Jersey Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Unconscious Woman

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A New Jersey man is charged with sexually assaulting a 19-year-old New York City woman while she was incapacitated, police said.

In the early morning hours of Nov. 17, 2012, Cyrus Fakroddin, 51, encountered a woman in Manhattan who had been at a nightclub earlier with her friends, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said.

Fakroddin took the woman in his van to his Summit home and sexually assaulted her while she was physically and mentally incapacitated, prosecutors said.

The woman regained consciousness several hours later and had no memory of meeting Fakroddin or going to his house, prosecutors said.

She returned to Manhattan and sought medical attention after suspecting she had been sexually assaulted, prosecutors said.

Detectives later gathered statements and secured physical forensic evidence relating to the case.

Fakroddin was arrested Wednesday at his home. He is charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault and is currently being held on $250,000 bail.
