YAPHANK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A new mother didn’t make it to the hospital, or even an ambulance, early Sunday – instead giving birth to a baby girl in a car on the Long Island Expressway.

Around 1:21 a.m., Suffolk County police received a call of a woman giving birth in a vehicle on the expressway near Exit 66 in Yaphank. Police did not say whether the vehicle was stopped or moving at the time.
