Brooklyn Man Accused Of Soliciting 10-Year-Old Girl For Sex Through Facebook
SHIRLEY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Brooklyn man was arrested Wednesday, after allegedly contacting a 10-year-old girl and asking her to engage in a sex act.
Detectives from the Suffolk County Police Computer Crimes Unit arrested John Burke, 35, after he allegedly contacted the girl via Facebook earlier this month.
Burke is a friend of the girl's family, police said.
Burke stands charged with disseminating indecent material to a child.
He was to held overnight at the Suffolk County 7th Precinct police station, and will be arraigned on Thursday in First District Court in Central Islip, officials said.
