RED BANK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) – A man was hit by a train after apparently slipping off the platform at the Red Bank train station, NJ TRANSIT officials announced Sunday.

The victim, whose name has not yet been released, suffered a broken leg in the incident.

After falling onto the tracks around 6:15 Sunday morning, a northbound North Jersey Coast Line train hit the man, NJ TRANSIT spokesman John Durso said.

Passengers were transfered to another train to continue their journey, Durso said.

No one on board the train was injured.
