Man Killed In Early-Morning Queens Apartment Fire
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- One man was killed and his elderly mother injured in an apartment fire in Queens early Tuesday morning.
The blaze broke out around 5:30 a.m. inside a two-bedroom apartment on Wexford Terrace in Jamaica Estates.
Henri Schwan, 62, was killed in the fire, 1010 WINS' Glenn Schuck reported.
His 87-year-old mother, Rosario Schwan, was rushed to New York Hospital in serious condition.

Forty firefighters responded to the fire; one suffered a minor injury, Schuck reported.
The fire was contained to the one apartment where neighbors said Schwan and his mother had lived for 35 years.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
