Nassau County Launches New Online Job Bank

MINEOLA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - There's a new, local, free online way to find a job or an employee in Nassau County.

Nassau Works, which was officially launched Tuesday, helps connect job seekers with local businesses by way of a free online service.

"The job seeker can choose the most convenient form, or the most user-friendly form that they're used to and receive their information that way and post their information that way," said County Executive Ed Mangano.

Brian Edwards, Executive Vice President at Astoria Federal Savings, told WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs that he likes the local connection.

"So Nassau Works is a great way for us to accomplish that because it connects us with local employee candidates," he said. "We're looking for seasone [and] experienced people right down to junior people."

Officials said that thousands of opportunities and seekers are already listed.
