Yep, They're Dating: Tiger Woods, Lindsey Vonn Make It Facebook Official

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The worst-kept secret in sports is now official.

Facebook official.

Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn are -- wait for it -- in a relationship. The golfer and U.S. Olympic star skier put an end to the rumors Monday by announcing their change in status via social media.

Woods tweeted that he had "Just posted some pictures of @Lindseyvonn and me on Facebook." The link went to his Facebook page, where visitors could indeed browse through a gallery containing photos of Woods and Vonn.

"This season has been great so far and I'm happy with my wins at Torrey and Doral. Something nice that's happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating," Woods wrote. "We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."

Vonn took the same approach: a tweet linking to Facebook pics and a personal message.

"I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods," she posted. "Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy. I don't plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends. Thank you for understanding and your continued support! xo LV."

Vonn is recovering from surgery after tearing two ligaments -- the ACL and MCL -- in her right knee last month. In a Feb. 6 statement, Vonn said she would "work as hard as humanly possible to be ready to represent my country" at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

Woods and his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, divorced following the golfer's infidelity scandal in 2009-10.

Leave some well-wishes for the happy couple in the comments...
