Suspect Sought In Attempted Rape At Brooklyn Subway Station

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a man who attacked a woman at a Brooklyn subway station last Thursday.

Surveillance cameras caught the suspect at the Bedford-Nostrad G Train stop. According to investigators, he offered to help the 21-year-old victim with her bags and then attempted to rape her in the stairwell as the two walked up to the street.

The victim refused medical attention at the scene.

The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 25 and 30, 5-foot-9 and weighing between 150 and 160 pounds.

Anyone with information in regards to the attempted rape is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-tips.
