Celebrating World Water Day

NEW YORK (WLNY) -- March 22nd is the 20th annual United Nations-declared World Water Day, an international day to celebrate fresh water and focus public attention upon the critical water issues of our era.

Recommended at the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), the United Nations General Assembly responded by designating March 22, 1993 as the first World Water Day.

Terri and Dick Greenly are co-founders of Water4, a non-profit organization visited The Couch to tell us how they are working to help end the global water crisis, one community at a time.
