Police Search For Suspects In Washington Heights Abduction

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Saturday were asking for the public's help in finding two suspects who are believed to have abducted an unidentified man and woman in Washington Heights.

Around 6:55 p.m. Friday, several people called police after hearing a woman scream, and seeing two men force her and the man into a vehicle at gunpoint near 173rd Street and Haven Avenue.

The driver of the minivan fled south on Haven Avenue, police said.

Nobody has been reported missing yet, but neighbors were shocked by the abduction, 1010 WINS Reporter Gary Baumgarten reported.

"It's a good area, it's a nice neighborhood. I used to walk my dog here all the time," said Christian.
