Expert: Bright Colors Big In Easter Fashion Trends

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - As many step out to services or family functions this Easter, many will be keeping an eye on what everyone else is wearing.

Fun, funky and beautiful Easter bonnets will be on display in the annual parade along Fifth Avenue.

Style expert Katlean de Monchy discussed Easter holiday trends with CBS 2's Alice Gainer Sunday morning.

"Definitely color. Listen, it's been a long winter. And probably something in a floral is good for today, but also good for spring," de Monchy told CBS 2's Gainer.

For those not into pastels, a darker colored dress with a floral print still captures the spirit of the day without going too over the top, de Monchy said.

Boys can also wear a fun fedora to get in on the dressing up, de Monchy said.

While some stores offer bargains for Easter-friendly outfits, some high-end, handmade Easter hats can cost as much as $2,000.
