N.J. White Supremacist Guilty In Attack On Middle Eastern Men

TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A reputed member of a white supremacist pleaded guilty to hate crime charges Tuesday, after be beat two Middle Eastern men in New Jersey.

Michael Gunar, 28, pleaded guilty to hate crime conspiracy and assault charges in connection with the incident on New Year's Eve 2011.

Federal authorities said Gunar, of East Windsor, belongs to a white supremacist group called the Aryan Terror Brigade.

Gunar admitted in federal court in Trenton that he and two other men went to a Sayreville housing complex on New Year's Eve in 2011 with the purpose of assaulting random non-white individuals.

Gunar admitted to brandishing a knife, punching a man and yelling ethnic slurs during an attack on two men.

He and an accomplice allegedly brass knuckles in the attack, according to published reports.

Another man, Christopher Ising of Waretown, also has been charged in the case. Ising, who allegedly accompanied Gunar for the attack, allegedly belongs to a white supremacist group called the Atlantic City Skins, according to published reports.
