Police On The Hunt For East Village Purse Snatcher
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are asking the public to help identify a man who snatched a woman's purse in the East Village on St. Patrick's Day, but ended up making off with nothing.
At around 3 a.m. on March 17, the 31-year-old woman was walking into her home on East 8th Street, when the man grabbed and took her purse, police said.
The purse was recovered, and the suspect left empty-handed, police said.
No one was injured in the incident.
Police have released surveillance photos of the suspect, who was described as a man in his 20s.
