UConn Debuted T.J. Weist's New Offense

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut football coach Paul Pasqualoni is counting on first-year offensive coordinator T.J. Weist this season.

The Huskies debuted Weist's offense in the Blue and White Spring football game Saturday at Rentschler Field with mixed results.

The final score of the controlled scrimmage was 6-0 after two Bobby Puyol field goals of 46 and 20-yards. UConn didn't divide up the roster into two teams because of injuries.

Quarterback Chandler Whitmer was 8 of 14 for 140 yards and an interception. Backup Casey Cochran was 7 of 18 for 101 yards and Scott McCummings was 1 of 6 for 9 yards.

The Huskies passing game included Whitmer finding Deshon Foxx three times for 70 yards. Freshman wide receiver Dhameer Bradley made a 53-yard catch to account for the big play in the game.
