Long Island Substitute Teacher Charged With Having Sex With Student

MOUNT SINAI, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A substitute teacher in Suffolk County was arrested Tuesday on charges that he had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student.

Allan Concepcion, 38, was arrested at his home in Mount Sinai Tuesday morning, police said.

Concepcion is a substitute teacher and the junior volleyball coach at Eastport South Manor High School, police said. He is also an assistant coach with the Long Island Fury volleyball team, and has worked as a gymnastics coach at the Hampton Bays Middle School, police said.

Concepcion was charged with third-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child. He was set to be arraigned on Wednesday in Suffolk County First District Court in Central Islip.

Police did not indicate whether the alleged victim was a boy or a girl.
