Police: Suspect Wanted For Attempted Rape Of Girl In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are trying to identify a suspect in connection with the attempted rape of a 13-year-old girl in Brooklyn.

It happened Tuesday around 3:30 p.m. in a building in the Coney Island section.

Police said the man rode the elevator down the basement with the girl and then threatened her with a pair of scissors. He then forced her out of the elevator and tried to rape her, but was unsuccessful and took off, police said.

Police said the suspect was wearing all black clothing.
