Ouch! Hall Of Famer Mike Ditka Rips Jets, Calls Them 'A Joke'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Owner Woody Johnson said on Tuesday that he's happy with the direction that his organization is heading.

But Super Bowl-winning coach Mike Ditka doesn't think too highly of the Jets these days.

The Hall of Famer, who continues to defend former Jet Tim Tebow, said on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Tuesday that the way New York handled Tebow in 2012 was "a joke."

He then took that opportunity to rip the Jets, calling the entire franchise a joke.

The legendary tight end didn't express much confidence in Mark Sanchez, either, who is competing with David Garrard, Greg McElroy, Geno Smith and Matt Simms for the starting quarterback job.

"Right now, I think Sanchez's psyche is smashed," Ditka said. "I mean, it's shattered. He has to get his confidence back before he can do anything."
