Police: Man Robbed 71-Year-Old Woman, Knocked Her Down In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Sunday were looking for a man who stole a 71-year-old woman's purse and knocked her to the ground in broad daylight in the Midwood section of Brooklyn.

The robbery happened around 4:50 p.m. on Thursday, May 2. The woman was walking near East 7th Street and Avenue H in Brooklyn when the man walked up behind her, grabbed her purse, and knocked her down, police said.

The robber was described as a black male between 25 and 30 years old, standing 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black ski hat and all black clothing.

Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect.
