Person Of Interest Sought In Fatal Stabbing In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are asking for the public's help in finding a person of interest wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing in Queens.

Around 3:50 a.m. Sunday, 21-year-old Stephen James walked up to police at Liberty Avenue and 123rd Street and told them he had been stabbed.

James was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he died the next morning, police said. The medical examiner was to determine the cause of death.

On Tuesday, police released a surveillance image of man identified as a person of interest in the case.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).  The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
