How To Help Oklahoma Tornado Victims

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The National Weather Service says the tornado that hit Moore, Okla., Monday was a top-of-the-scale EF-5 twister with winds of at least 200 mph.

The mammoth tornado destroyed countless homes, cleared lots down to bare red earth and claimed 24 lives.

Here is a quick list of some of the agencies that are providing aid and how you can help:

Crossroads Oklahoma City:

This Oklahoma City church has set up a relief site for victims of the tornado. Donate directly to their relief fund at CrossroadsOKC.com. You can also purchase items at WalMart.com to be picked up in-store by the church. Set your "local Wal-Mart" as Store #743 (Oklahoma City), or click here for details.

The Salvation Army

You can donate to the Salvation Army's Oklahoma tornado relief online or call 1-800-SAL-ARMY (1-800-725-2769). You can also text the word "STORM" to 80888 to make a $10 donation through your mobile phone; to confirm your gift, respond with the word "Yes."
