NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – The Tony Awards will be handed out next Sunday evening.
The stars vying for the Best Featured Actress in a Play award range from Broadway veterans like Judith Light for “The Assembled Light,” to up and coming performers like Shalita Grant, who starred in “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike.”
As CBS 2’s Dana Tyler reported, Westchester native Condola Rashad is also nominated. She’s been in two plays and has received two nominations so far in her young career.
The five nominees up for the prize are:
Carrie Coon, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Shalita Grant, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike
Judith Ivey, The Heiress
Judith Light, The Assembled Parties
Condola Rashad, The Trip to Bountiful
The Tonys will be handed out at Radio City Music Hall on June 9 at 8 p.m. The show will air live on CBS 2 HD at 8 p.m.
