Long Island Man Charged In Stabbing During Beer Pong Game

WANTAGH, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A 22-year-old Long Island man has been charged with stabbing and wounding another man during a game of beer pong in the suspect's garage.

The beer pong game was going on in the early morning hours Monday, in the garage of the Wantagh home where Michael Pelaez, 22, lives, according to Nassau County police. The 25-year-old victim was playing beer pong when a quarrel ensued, prompting Pelaez allegedly to go into the house and get a kitchen knife.

Pelaez then returned to the garage and stabbed the victim in his right hand, Nassau County police said.

The victim was treated at a local hospital, while Pelaez was arrested at the scene at 3:55 a.m. Monday, police said.

Pelaez was charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was set to be arraigned Tuesday at Nassau County First District Court in Hempstead.
