Police: Arrest Made In Brooklyn Home Invasion Foiled By 10-Year-Old Boy

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police have made an arrest in connection with an attempted home invasion in Brooklyn that was thwarted by a 10-year-old boy earlier this week.

Police said 24-year-old Jayquan Straker was arrested Thursday on a robbery charge.

On Monday, Straker and another man dressed as deliverymen, forced their way into a Canarsie home and demanded cash from nine people who were inside, police said.

When one of the suspects went upstairs and pointed a gun through a doorway, a 40-year old woman slammed the door on his arm, making him drop his gun, police said.

That's when police said the 10-year-old boy jumped into action, picked up the gun and fired a round at the suspect, but missed.

Police said one of the suspects fired back, but also missed before both suspects took off. No one was hurt and nothing was taken from the apartment.

The incident was captured on surveillance video.

The other suspect remains at large.

Police are investigating.
