NJ Teacher Faces Charges Over Alleged Sexual Contact With Student
MORRISTOWN, N.J. (AP) -- Numerous charges have been filed against a northern New Jersey high school teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male student.
Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp said Saturday that 32-year-old Jenna Leahey of Morristown faces two counts each of child endangerment and criminal sexual contact. Bail was set at $100,000 cash.
Knapp says the relationship between the Parsippany Hills High School teacher and her student started in late January and ended this week. Leahey allegedly exchanged sexually explicit text messages with the teen, then sent him sexually explicit pictures of herself.
The relationship progressed physically to mutual sexual contact, which occurred on and off school grounds.
The teen disclosed the relationship to a school staff member.
It wasn't known Saturday if Leahey has retained an attorney.
