New Nickolodean Show Makes Television History
NEW YORK (WLNY) — Nickelodeon’s brand-new spin-off comedy series Sam & Cat starring Ariana Garnde (Cat Valentine) & Jennette McCurdy (Sam Puckett) debuted last week as the top-rated kids show of the week.
Sam & Cat airs Saturday nights at 8 p.m., featuring two insanely popular characters — from two separate shows.
Jennette McCurdy stars alongside Ariana Grande on the show, which is making television history by uniting two different characters from two completely different programs.
Reprising their roles from their respective hit series, Sam & Cat chronicles the adventures of feisty Sam Puckett and flighty Cat Valentine as the pair become best friends and unlikely roommates after starting their own babysitting business.
Best known for her comedic portrayal of Sam Puckett on the mega-hit Nickelodeon series iCarly, Jennette McCurdy most recently wrapped production on Nickelodeon’s original TV movie Swindle. In addition, she was featured in two other Nick original TV movies, Fred: The Movie and Best Player. McCurdy has also guest starred on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Strong Medicine, Law & Order: SVU, Medium and Judging Amy.
