Off-Duty NYPD Officer, 2 Others Shot In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An off-duty NYPD officer and two civilians were shot Sunday night in Queens.

The shooting happened just after 10 p.m. Sunday on South Road in Jamaica, Queens.

The officer was shot in the hand, and was reported in stable condition.

A man in his 40s was shot in the abdomen, and was reported in extremely critical condition. It is not likely that he will survive, CBS 2's Dave Carlin reported.

A third person was shot and was reported in stable condition, police said.

All three victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital.

Witnesses told 1010 WINS' Gene Michaels the shooting took place in a house on South Road. Further details of the shooting were not immediately available.
