B&C Morning Show: A Mets Rebirth?!

After losing in a late night, walk-off fashion in Atlanta -- the game concluded at 1:22 a.m. following a lengthy rain delay -- the Mets will be back at it later today in a doubleheader with the Braves.

Considering the Mets are 25-40, one might wonder why the Dynamic Radio Duo, that is Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton, would choose to open-up today's radio program by talking about a fourth place ball club, with so much else going on?

Enter Zack Wheeler (pictured).

The Mets' young phenom will make his highly-anticipated MLB debut tonight in Atlanta, on the heels of the Mets' other young fireballer, Matt Harvey, who will take the hill for the first half of the double-dip.

So for the first time in quite a while, the legions of loyal Mets fan have something to be excited about, at least most of them do.

Boomer is certainly looking forward to see what happens tonight with an eye on the future, while Craig is having a tough time allowing himself to get emotionally invested in this team, citing years of being letdown by the "Not So Amazin's."

In addition to that -- as Craig suggested yesterday -- it may be a while before we see Mark Teixeira in Yankee Pinstripes as a DL stint is likely and season ending surgery is not out of the question either. Also, the Spurs look to close out the Heat tonight in South Beach in Game 6 of the NBA Finals...
