Documentary Shows U.S. Forces In Combat In Afghanistan

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A new documentary offers a never before seen look at combat in the war in Afghanistan.

"The Hornet's Nest" follows U.S. Forces in Afghanistan in some of the most dramatic scenes ever caught on camera.

"It's a very raw, uncut film," Cpl. Rory Hamill told CBS 2's Cindy Hsu. "It shows exactly what we go through, no politics involved."

The film followed Hamill's unit in action in Afghanistan.

Frank Adamski said his son was just three weeks from coming home from his third tour of duty when he was killed in action.

Adamski said the film has given him some level of closure.

"I got to understand what happened to him. I also got to see how the guys react under extreme pressure and they're amazing," Adamski told Hsu.

A special screening of "The Hornet's Nest" will play this Thursday at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.
