One Tank Trips: Dinosaurs Stand Tall In Secaucus, N.J.
SECAUCUS, N.J. (CBSNewYork) – At WCBS 880, we’ve been taking you to places you can visit on one tank of gas.
For our latest One Tanks Trips installment, reporter Peter Haskell got up close and personal with some prehistoric creatures in Secaucus, New Jersey.
Kids seem to love it at Field Station: Dinosaurs.
“It’s pretty awesome. I think this park is awesome,” one kid told Haskell.
“They are coming here and they are meeting dinosaurs. We have 34 full-sized, active, interactive, live, animatronic dinosaurs,” said Guy Gsell, the park’s executive producer. “It’s theme park meets museum meets theater.”
The dinosaurs speak and move and look lifelike.
“He’s blinking and breathing. So, it really comes to life for a kid,” Gsell said. “They are big. They are big. They’re all life-size. So, these are real size that these dinosaurs would have been.”
The target audience is kids between the ages of three and 11.
It’s close to the Lincoln Tunnel and the address is actually One Dinosaur Way, Secaucus, NJ 07094.
“We like to say nine minutes from Manhattan, 90 million years back in time.”
The park’s summer hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. From Labor Day to September 29, it will only be open on weekends.
More details can be found at the park’s website.
