The incidents all took place in Mineola, East Hills, and Roslyn Heights between 9 p.m. on Friday night and 9 a.m. Saturday morning.

Residents told 1010 WINS reporter Gary Baumgarten that they were disgusted by the alleged vandalism, some even suggested that the perpetrators may deserve a taste of their own medicine.

"This is unbelievable you know, that someone would do stupid things like this," Steve said, "If we catch them we'll do it to their cars, you know bust it up. If it's kids doing it we'll do it to their parents cars."

Authorities emphasized that residents should not take matters into their own hands.

Police are asking anybody with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
