Police Search For Man Who Assaulted Boy At South Street Seaport

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Saturday released a sketch of a suspect who sexually assaulted a 12-year-old boy at the South Street Seaport earlier this week.

The boy was shopping at the shopping mall at Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport around 7:45 p.m. this past Tuesday, when he walked into a restroom. The man approached the boy and sexually assaulted him, police said.

The suspect was described as a man between 30 and 45, standing 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium complexion, and brown and gray hair with facial hair. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and gray sweat pants, police said.

Police released a sketch of the suspect Saturday.
