Bob Quigley Inducted Into Harness Racing Hall of Fame

GOSHEN, N.Y. (AP) — The first general manager of the Meadowlands Racetrack, trainer/driver Dick Stillings and five horses are to be inducted into the Harness Racing Hall of Fame on Sunday.

Bob Quigley was GM of the Meadowlands when the track opened in 1976. He oversaw harness and thoroughbred operations for six years. Stillings is best known for sending out Little Brown Jug winners Barberry Spur in 1986 and Jaguar Spur in 1987.

Horses to be inducted are Bettor's Delight and Life Sign and broodmares Lady Ashlee Ann, Michelle's Jackpot and Grand Lady.

Bettor's Delight won $2.5 million as a pacer, and has been a successful stallion. Life Sign, with $1.9 million in earnings, won the 1993 Little Brown Jug despite racing on the outside the entire race.
