Actress Amanda Bynes Appears In Court Over Reckless Endangerment Charge
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Former child star Amanda Bynes had a brief court appearance in Manhattan on Tuesday.
Sticking with a trend, the 27-year-old actress showed up in front of a judge wearing a long aqua-colored wig, black sweatpants and a tank top. Previously, Bynes appeared in court in a disheveled blond wig.
Bynes did not speak at Tuesday's court appearance, which lasted mere minutes. Her next court date is Sept. 26.
Bynes faces charges of tampering with physical evidence, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of marijuana. She was arrested in May for allegedly smoking marijuana and throwing a bong out the window of her midtown Manhattan apartment.
Bynes denies the charges.
A day after her arrest she posted on Twitter, "I only smoke tobacco I don't drink or do drugs. I've never had a bong in my life! I need to get another nose job after seeing my mugshot!"

According to prosecutors, no bong was recovered and the actress' attorney said that was a sign that his client was telling the truth.
In a statement, Bynes later called the charges against her "lies" and claimed that it all started when one of the responding officers sexually harassed her the night before. Internal Affairs was reviewing that claim.
Days after her arrest, she posted a lengthy note on Twitter announcing that she's suing the NYPD.
The troubled actress rose to fame a decade ago as a major star on Nickelodeon. She has also starred in several films, including 2010′s "Easy A."

Before her arrest, Bynes had garnered national attention for posting odd videos and racy pictures on Twitter.
She made headlines again Monday after tweeting, "Barack Obama and Michelle Obama are ugly!" The post was the latest in a string of tweets devoted to calling people -- mainly celebrities -- ugly.
Bynes has other criminal charges pending against her, in addition to the charges she now faces. She is due in court next week for an arrest from April 2012 for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Bynes is also on three years probation for driving with a suspended license.
